GC The Nature Trail's SakataHolland Lop Broken Black Tortoiseshell Junior Doe
Sakata's first leg was under Randy Shumaker. I brought her mainly to make sure there were enough broken junior does for a leg. Others had the same idea and we ended up with seven on the table.
The very next weekend, Sakata did well at a quad show, earning a second place under Cathy Patrick, and a first place under Brian Hartzell, with a BOSG under Pam Nock Her very next show was Nationals.
Sakata's main strength is her body, especially the hindquarter. It is absolutely remarkable. She does struggle with some ear control. Look at the width between her eyes. It's almost ridiculous. I'm sure some people watching the Nationals judging were wondering how a doe with a tight crown could do so well. But I think that if they could have put their hands on her, they would have understood in a moment.
If it is possible, I think that Sakata actually feels better than May - and May was my best hindquarter until now.
